AKINYI creates bold handmade crochet pieces — a brand in love with colour, craft, and the joy of slow making, from Berlin and Kisumu, Kenya. Each design begins with a passion for drawing in colour and grows through an artistic process rooted in handwork — crocheted, lined, and finished entirely by hand, including the straps. Every detail reflects craftsmanship, transparency, and a zero-waste approach, while locally sourced materials and traditional Kenyan prints give each piece its own character. AKINYI works with women at every level, from the crocheters and seamstresses in Kisumu to the young women who model the finished pieces. Vibrant designs are transformed into colourful, warm, and individual bags and kimonos for everyday life.
